How much is an average piano lesson?

Hi, i’m thinking of taking piano lessons, and i have seen one that is $30 per half hour, this sounds kind of expensive to me, but i wouldn’t really know, it that a normal price for a piano lesson?

That’s a very good price, so you want to make sure you practise every day. Then you’ll improve faster and be really proud of yourself. One day maybe you can use it to earn money, so it’s not money wasted, it’s an investment. If you don’t practise between lessons, you’ll be wasting your money and that’s expensive.

I stopped learning piano and i wish to learn it again ?

I stopped learning piano when i was 12,i was at grade 5.I know its stupid for me to quit at that grade,but i’m really stress that time.Now,i am 15 and i try to play piano at home after 3 years(I don’t touch the keyboard at all),but i couldnt.Do you think i shoud learn piano again?If i do so,must i start from the beginning or not ?

If you really want to learn then find you a GOOD teacher and she or he will be able to hear what you can do or remember and tell you where you are and start you at the correct point.

How can I learn to play the piano by ear?

i would really like to learn to play by ear. I’ve been playing piano for almost 8 years, but I always have sightread. Is there a certain technique on how I can play piano by ear? Thanks.

If you can listen to a music note and KNOW which piano key it is with very little or no guessing, then you should be able to learn to play by ear. If you can not "hear" which key it is without seeing it written, then you need to practice. Get ahold of some piano recordings of different tempo pieces. Start with the slower ones first. Listen to the notes, identify them and then try to play them. If you still have a piano teacher, ask him or her to make some recordings for you; or, if you have two pianos in the lesson room, ask him/her to play a note and have you identify and play it back. Once you have accomplished this then move on to series of notes.

I learned sightreading in choir. The technique above is how I was taught by my teacher to sing by ear. I can sing along with most songs before the song has finished the first time through and can definitely sing along with it the second time through if the words are written. Takes a few times to memorize it if the words are not written down.

How can I learn piano online? Is it even possible?

I don’t have no cash for courses and of course for piano, so I wanna learn it through online. Is it possible?? Maybe there is some programs or smth?

Hmm, I don’t think you would learn to play the piano easily. There might be some videos online. Give it a try and see if you like it.

I would suggest for you to buy books. I have wanted to learn to play the guitar and I bought books.
Some come with a CD so you can hear if you are playing correctly.

If books are sold for guitars there should be for pianos as well.

I just started playing piano, any tips for me?

I started playing piano around the beginning of December of 2009, I want to get better, any tips for me? What should I do? What should I not do?

learn how to read music as soon as possible. then i suggest learning the scales (and thereby the circle of fifths) because you can then recognize patterns and melodies and so forth in pieces, which is one of the coolest parts of being a musicican. and finally i’d reccomend learning some of bach’s easier pieces, because he’s all about rhythm and intonations and so forth, which is what will eventually make you a good pianist.

when you’re practicing, play a warm up scale several times to get your fingers moving.
when you’re trying to play a piece, if you’re a beginner (and even if not) it’s often good to learn one hand and then the next, and THEN put them together. when you do put them together, take the piece in small sections at a time, and perfect them, before moving on to the next. once you’ve learned two sections in a row, play them straight through so you can be sure you have the transition correctly.

also, ask around and find a good teacher. a good teacher’s an invaluable resource, though of course it’s possible to get good without.

How do you play runs on the piano without it sounding choppy?

I am having real trouble playing scale runs on the piano with out it sounding choppy. Bringing the thumb from F to C on the piano does not sound even with the rest of the tones of the scale even though I practice slowly. Does anyone have a method to play runs fast without it sounding choppy. I already have Hanon’s Virtuoso Pianist handbook.

Practice slowly and make all of the notes in the scale the same length and volume- don’t strike the keys that hard- I have never had that problem, I strike the keys the same length and volume

The C190 is a portable organ with simulated two manual functionality designed for religious congregations, weddings, and all other occasions that call for high-quality organ or orchestral music in a portable instrument. Simultaneous use of organ and orchestral sounds: The C-190 comes with the finest organ sounds from the Rodgers Pipe Organ division of Roland. On top of that, it also features excellent instrument sounds that can be used alongside the organ section. You can “split” the 76-note keyboard into two sections (divisions) and play the C-190 like a two-manual organ. BASS AND MANUAL PARTS: Though a single keyboard instrument, the C-190 allows you to play monophonic bass organ parts and polyphonic instrument sounds. Because of an intelligent bass recognition feature, the pedal part plays a monophonic bass line that doubles the lowest note you play on the keyboard.
