I’m 13 and i haven’t been dancing ballet since i was 6 or 7. Because my sister stopped. recently, i suddenly found out that i love ballet, so can i learn it at home, without a coach? I’m learning art and piano, and that is more than my parents could afford. Plus, would i be too old? I know 13 is like a difficult age, but i’m willing to try. I’m actually not very flexible, so are there any good stretch exercises?
I really wish i could dance and taking classes. But there is simply no way i could. i don’t really like those puffy skirts and all that, i just want to dance, be soft and flexible. Really, would someone pls help me? it wouldn’t matter if it takes a longer time, i don’t mind. And, don’t write too many hard words, my english isn’t that good. No sarcastic answers please. Detailed and true answer would be pretty much appreciated.
Its really hard to get good at ballet at 13, but if you are really dedicated and have a good coach, it is do-able. Im sure there are biijs at the library you can check out that describe the positions though teaching yourself may not be the best, as dance instructors have speant years working with other people’s bodies. If you are going to try to learn at home, be very careful with streching and stuff, its easy to hurt yourself.
Be careful and Happy dancing!
