I just purchased a mountain dulcimer. I really don’t know anything about it but I fell in love when I heard it played on a music award show (Cindy Lauper!) and I got a 4 string Folkcraft all dark walnut model, made in the 60′s so I hope it will have a nice seasoned sound.
Is there anything anyone can tell me about it to help me get started? I play the autoharp and can read music having learned piano, but the guitar was always my first love….but I wasn’t allowed that…wah…but I do love the autoharp but find it a little limited. I really cant wait to get going on the dulcimer.
What I’m looking for is:
1) Online how to play book or manual or site.
2) Music tabs for the dulcimer free online songs.
3) Any free instructional sites with videos.

Thanks, Lester, I’m not in the USA and the problem is I know zip about this so I want to peruse some online ones until I know that I have even tuned it right, etc. No use spending money on the wrong books…there are so many variations of these things out there, thanks though I will keep that site bookmarked.
