i went to see andre watts (the great)…was performing two of BRAHMS' piano concertos…of course, he wasn't using sheet music.
halfway through one of the movements, he stopped…walked over to the conductor, tapped him on the shoulder, and for about 10 seconds, he studied his sheet music.
this certainly didn't bother me…i thought it was amazing that he could remember even half of the concertos.
just curious…how often does this happen? has anyone ever seen this before?
if so, tell me what piece they were performing, and who it was.
No, but I did go to a Brass Band contest, where the first Band on stage missed the first 32 bars completely (how they can collectively do this is beyond me) and yet they still won the competition!
