Is there a website that has instructions, or whats a good book to buy? I am a beginner in all the aspects of the word. The only thing I really know is what each note is. Aka, whole note, half note, etc. But, as for reading and being able to play piano music, I have no skill.
I have a piano to practice on, so thats not a problem. I just need help learning how to play it. Any suggestions on where to start?
Well, I dont need motivation, I can do that pretty well. Everyone in the family that plays, aka, my dad, uncle, uncle, aunt…and I think Great Uncle, but he can't do much now. But, they all play without reading notes. They hear a song and in about 20 minutes, they can play it on the piano. So, I don't really have anyone who knows how to read music and whatnot.
I highly recommend finding a teacher. The background and training they have will be invaluable. Yes, it helps you stay motivated to keep moving forward, but it also helps to make sure you are actually understanding what you are trying to play.
