Tips, Tricks & Piano Playin' Resources

How can I play piano without looking at the keyboard?

I want to look straight to the scores while playing piano, but I can't memorize the keyboard positions so I keep looking at the keyboard to know which key I should play. It is really disturbing, it messes up my playing because I always stop to look down. Does anybody know how to memorize it? Thanks

Funny; Chopin said that someone who looks at his hands "plays like a girl", which is funny for me since Chopin is not noted for masculinity, (unlike George Sand).
It comes with practice, as in typing. You know where are, and where you are going, it only seems hard now. In fact it is easier than typing.
Obviously you have to find your place again in the score, every time you look down, so if you can keep your glances to a quick minimum, you will be on your way. You can even use your peripheral vision to get a general idea of the B-C and E-F locations.
Try playing what you feel, with your eyes closed, that's another way to build the finger/brain-keyboard interface, which is less frustrating to get wrong.
Practice. Relax. Practice. It is inevitable that you will get it. Even Chopin had to learn in stages.
