I recently got a piano instructor job for the first time, and some of my students who are playing piano for three to four years cant play sonatas or even harder piano pieces? What are those teacher's techniques without being rude/mean to students? and please give me some proper answers tnx
You could break the piece down into phrases that way it is more manageable. Go through it and see if there are any similar measures that way they wont be so intimidated. As long as you focus on the things they are doing right, this goes for teaching in general, they will be more successful overall. Obviously, at the same time you do need to help them work on their challenges (not weaknesses) but you still can congratulate them on the parts they are doing well.
"Good, that was very good! Next time lets focus on this….remember its ______" etc etc
I dont play piano, but I do play the flute & teach children…so I hope I helped a little at least!
