I can touch type, does that suggest i will be good at learning to play the piano?
I would, of course, start practicing on a keyboard.
And I'm said to have "piano fingers".
Could you give me an idea of how long it takes to be any good, effort involved, tips and any useful information?
Thankyou.
Well, you can't really put a limit on learning somthing. I could take one person 5 years to do what someone does in 1 year. I dont think you should try and take up an instrument if you are only trying to get good at it quick, you also need to have a passion for it. I have played drum set, clarinet, sax, and also trombone, and with all of those i just wanted to get good quick, and i did in a short amount of time, however, i stopped because they werent my passion and there was no drive i had to learn it. Then, i decied to take up piano, I have been playing for about a year and a half, and i can say i am a decent player. I have a LOT to learn still, but i want to take the time to learn. Soooo i guess in a nutshell what i am trying to say is only play it if you have a passion and not because you have long fingers hahah.
as for tips… just do as much music theory searches as you can, practice anytime you can, and the most important is to have a teacher. : )
Hope i helped
