I am a complete newb at the piano. I have no interest in learning to read music i just watch a few how to dvds and follow there fingers. i can memorize both parts of a song but when i go to put themtogether my mind goes blank. Are there any techniques i can use to overcome this strange mental block? Thanks ahead.
Maybe try playing the same thing with both hands – like Coldplay's Clocks – to warm up to the idea of playing with both hands.
With more complex pieces, try thinking what keys you will be playing together and how your hands are going to find those positions.
After that its just practise, practise, practise!
