Tips, Tricks & Piano Playin' Resources

how to learn piano at home without any teacher?

any books

Well, it really depends on how you learn – by book/practice/trial & error/etc..

If you're comfortable learning from a book – try your local music store & definitely ask an employee for their recommendation. They *should* know the best piano book(s) for beginning learners.

If not, try playing by ear. Purchase/download some simple music (piano or not), and play it on repeat. Try to play along with it, pausing the music if you need to. The most important part of this – once you think you have it down, let a friend or family member listen to you play – once with the music, once without. Oftentimes it will tell you whether you're off key (or have mistakes somewhere).
