Apologize is a very popular song by the band One Republic. It has a melody that many people will recognize, and it is very common for beginning pianists to learn it as a way to expand their knowledge of popular music. Although there are a lot of notes going on in the song Apologize, they can very easily be separated into right hand and left hand parts, meaning that you can learn the melody separate from the bass line, and then slowly work on putting them together. The melody of the song is basically made up of broken chords, and played one finger at a time. If you are not familiar with chords, they occur any time you strike two or more keys on the keyboard at the same time. Typical chords involve three notes, and a broken chord occurs when you strike the three notes that make up the chord one at a time in a particular order.
