Ok so I am currently taking piano and i have been for 8 years and i am taking my grade four piano exam soon. I am 13 turning 14 and I am a girl. I would REALLY like to sing properly becuase i love to sing but most of my recordings on my camera sound horrible . and then i want to sing and play my piano together because the music just flows out but my singing needs some work.. so any ideas on how i can learn at home?
I highly recommend the video game SingStar. I have it on my PS3, but it’s available on the PS2 also.
As a song plays, it will draw bars on the screen that represent the pitches and rhythms of the vocals, and as you sing, it’ll show you what you sang, and score you on how well you did. It has three skill levels, to control how much inaccuracy is allowed. And there are hundreds of songs available!
When I first started playing SingStar, I could barely reach the highest notes of "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. Thanks to obsessive playing, I can now sing like Deborah Harry from Blondie, or Jon Anderson from Yes.
