I’m 12, I play a little guitar, and just started playing flute for band in school, so I pretty much know all the basics in music theory. I also know major scales and all the notes on a piano from self-teaching…I’ll be starting my first real piano lessons next week. Do you think all this will make it a little easier for me to learn?
Definately. I started to learn piano at group lessons in kindergarten. In grade three, i started to learn clarinet at school, and since i already had an outline and understanding of how to read music, it made it alot easier. I quickly surpassed all the other students while learning, and it took all the students that hadn’t ever played a musical instrument before a year to catch up to my level. Knowing guitar and flute will make it a lot easier to play piano.
