Tips, Tricks & Piano Playin' Resources

Is it hard to learn piano? How long till…?

I am a fast learner, have learned all the basics of music theory before and understand the notes and beats etc. of music. If I were to take piano lessons once a week, (I have a piano at home too) how much progress do you think I'd make within several months?

I know this is a very vague question, but I mean, do you know what I might be able to cover? (and yes I know it depends on a teacher)
Help me out here…
thanks

Learning piano takes A LOT of time, effort, and dedication. It truly depends on how busy your current schedule is. If you have school (especially if you're in high school/university), or have a full-time job, you may find it hard to fit it into your schedule.

To help you "see" how much you would progress:
- There are about 13 "grades" where I take piano, and after several months, you would probably only progress 1-2 grade levels. But be aware that by the time you reach the mid-grades (around grade 5)…it will take anywhere from 1 year to 2 years to progress onto next grade.
- The final grade is when you graduate.
- There are also examinations that you must take if you want to be certified (if you want to be certified, you also must take pre/co-requisites that include music theory, and history).
