i want to learn to play but i know i will quit on it if its boring. so will somebody with experience tell me if "learning" to play the piano is boring?
Once you find what you enjoy playing it becomes: ecstasy. I practice all the time. Not because I have to but because I love it! Expressing yourself. That's what it's all about.
It is in no way boring, in fact it's my number one hobby!
In some ways I strongly disagree with the person above me. Maybe you've never taken an exam in your life but I can assure you doing Music Theory and Piano exams will improve your technique and understanding to be honest rather than not.
I used to like pop songs but then my teacher brought me into a different world: Classical. It's truly amazing. Good luck anyway!
