Keeping hands warm before playing piano?

Question by ツ: Keeping hands warm before playing piano?
Hey =]
Well, I play the piano and lately I’ve found it really difficult to play songs with cold fingers. I’ve always had colder hands, which is normal to me. Since the temperature varies constantly now in Australia, my hands get colder every so often. I also have really short fingers, which makes playing octaves [and higher] rather hard. Now, my question is, “Is there a way to keep your hands warm before playing piano?” I’ve tried soaking my hands in warm water before playing, but they always get cold soon after. I usually have a glass of warm water before playing- that sometimes helps a bit. Sometimes, in the winter, I wear gloves, but they slip around everywhere. Is there any other way to keep them warm? If any of you have tried something that helps keep your hands warm, please share them with me, I would like to know =] My exams are coming up and I don’t want my fingers slipping around everywhere cause then my exam would be epic fail. So please, answers are appreciated =]

Yep. Portable handwarmers always do the trick for me. You can pick them up at WalMart very cheap, like 2 for $ 1.00.
