My grandfather learned to play piano at 50 and released his first CD at 70. Pick it up, spend 15 minutes a day practicing and you’ll be amazed at what you can do. References :
Nope. Playing by ear will make playing and reading much easier. I picked up piano as a music theory student and already being able to hear chords helped a lot. It’ll be hard to recognize chords at first but once you get used to seeing them notated you’ll enjoy playing much more. Don’t give up! References :
Are you on your death bed? If not, at age 16 you are at an excellent age to learn the theory behind piano playing. Get started now and you won’t regret it. References : Guitar picker of 53 years. Learned to play at age 16
Not too difficult. Knowing how to read actual notes and playing by ear are totally separate things. I don’t think your knowing how to play by ear will affect your ability to learn. I suggest finding a good teacher and explaining your dilemma to him or her. If he or she is a good mentor, you will be reading in a matter of weeks. References :
its easy…..all you have to remember is that the notes are A-G (7 notes total). the space between the lines of the measure are F A C E with F being the very last space at the bottom.then it just goes up. then the other 5 are E G B D F those r on the lines. starting at the bottom it goes in that order. an easy way to remember that is to do :
E= every
G=good
B=boy
D=does
F=fine
if u want notes that r off the scale….like above it…..all u have to do is start from the bottom with the line n that’d be E then…..F is the 1st space…..G is the nxt line…then it goes back to A which is the 2nd space n it goes so on…….from the bottom up (the scale) it goes E F G A B C D E F G n so on….thats how to go off the scale.
to go under the scale you just have to do the notes above in reverse order.
hope this sorta help…i know itz probably confusing sorry. but you’ll prbobably be able to figure it out! References : I learned it from my music teacher and my band teacher.
