I am a stay at home mom who lives in a tiny apartment and have no car. (Hubby takes our only one) I love all music with a passion and would love to how to play an instrument. I have so much time to learn!
I have a basic understanding of music and notes (very basic!) and would like to self teach myself to play something. What would be good for me to start with? Other than a piano or keyboard. Is a violin hard to learn? Please help and thank you ever so much 
Recorder is a good instrument as it is small. and you can learn to play recognisable things quite quickly. Also a tin whistle or a mouth organ
Violins are quite difficult to learn and it takes a long time to produce even recognisable notes. You would probably need a teacher and the practising is rather tough on other people’s nerves!
