Question by pastelifesaver: Playing Piano “HELP”?
I hope someone can help me, but this is my situation. I play the piano and read music – my husband plays the guitar, but does not read music, so when we try and play together I always tell him the key I’m in and he follows; however, I was thinking how nice it would be if he could tell me the key he was playing in and then I could follow him, but how can I play those notes incorprating the key he’s in, when that’s definately not written in my music. Any advice or a helpful website would be greatly appreciated.

Paul McCarthy doesn’t know notation, a real sock to me too.
You must master your theory. People thinks i ‘play by ear’
i am not, its theory that i am using. My family member who won the Grammy for a writer, doesn’t read. but when he got into the business is when he realise what i was saying, ‘know your notation man!
e mail or IM. I can show your a technique that will teach you all the scales and all the chores. then jamming with anybody cuz you will know what KEY their are in.
Tell your husband it is so mush easier and more creative for both of you.
