Tips, Tricks & Piano Playin' Resources

Preschool Training for Piano Teachers

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 24, 2008

Music is more fun when you share it with others. Imagine a group of kindergartners enjoying music together. They take turns at the piano identifying high sounds and low sounds. Using the keyboard, they investigate musical concepts like going up and going down and learn that the piano can make loud sounds and soft sounds.

Do you like working with young children? If so, attending the Comprehensive Musicianship Piano Teacher Training Program will teach you how to present basic music concepts to 4 and 5 year olds. The Music for Moppets pre-school level piano readiness program, allows very young students to become involved in music at a time when their interest level is high. The approach is keyboard based and includes games, body movement and lots of fun.

It is unreasonable to expect children of this age to sit still on a piano bench for thirty minutes or more, so Music for Moppets activities utilize guided play time which is a natural part of children’s lives. Students partake of creative movement, dramatic role playing, singing, rhythm games, drawing and coloring. Comprehensive musicianship at this level involves equal development of ear training, rhythm & steady beat, orientation to the piano black & white keys, reading readiness, technique, theory and repertoire.

Music for Moppets can enhance your studio by building a solid core of enthusiastic young students eager and prepared to continue piano study. We have a training class July 21-23, 2008 at the Lake Shore Music Studio near downtown Chicago. There is on-street parking, easy access via public transportation, and it is close to many hotels. Guided by your instructor, Julie Lovison, you will enjoy three jam packed days, full of hands-on creative activities that will get you ready to offer classes to your students in the fall. Visit www.LakeShoreMusicStudio.com to learn more about this program and other group piano teaching programs based on the Robert Pace Piano curriculum.
