I want to learn to play piano and keyboard but don't know which to start on. I've never played either. Is the piano much more complicated because of the pedals? Which is easier – going from keyboard to piano, or piano to keyboard? (Let's assume price is not an option!) I want to be able to home-record either on top of my guitar playing and vocals.
Piano.If you want proper classical training with scales and everything. ( And even if you don`t)
Mainly, to get the 'feel' of the piano and you can be much more expressive.Also, usuall more keys.
The pedals are an art, but will come naturally with time.
You will prob need a sustain pedal even with a keyboard.
I have both ,and prefer my piano above my keyboard.
I wish you luck & discipline in your training,(as an adult ) `cos my 30yr old cousin asked me to teach her, but then she gave up after the first lesson.
