Do you know any strategies or techniques that you use to read and learn sheet music for piano faster and more effectively? For example, are there things you look at or focus on when you first get a new piece of music? Like myself, I just dive right in and start playing from the beginning and go slow and try to figure out the notes as i go along, because I’m not very good at simply looking at a note and knowing a split-second later what note it is on the piano.
Learn music theory. That is, how harmonies move in music, this makes it easier to anticipate the rest of the phrase.
