I recently came into the possesion of a suzuki HP 150ex electric piano, and the pedals, all three, do nothing. I’ve looked everywhere for some sort of switch to no avail, and the manual is nowhere to be found. What can I do to activate my pedals. Please help
I was looking on line and, like you, could not find a specific HP 150EX manual. But I expect it’s similar to others in Suzuki’s line. If it’s a console type piano, the top of the pedal lyre has a plug and pigtail of wires that connects to the piano. It looks like it’s keyed to only fit one direction. See http://www.suzukipianos.com/PianoManuals/HP-300exOwnersManual.pdf pages 10-13.
If it’s like most Molex type connectors, it’s a snug fit and may need some extra "persuasion" to get it to seat properly.
If you plugged the pedal assembly in after the piano was turned on (don’t know why that would be) the pedal connector may not have "registered" as being connected during the piano’s boot process. Cycling power should clear that type of error.
