OK, now level with me – is it seriously possible to teach yourself piano using only a good electric piano and some instruction manuals? Time isn't a problem (I'm in Iraq) and neither is committment. I'm just wondering whether this is possible or if I'd just be wasting my time and going nowhere.

For your information, and none of your darn business, I have a deployed husband and a horrible case of insomnia – I waste a lot of time between 12am-5am on here when I can't sleep.
