I’ve recently learned how to play Adele’s Hometown Glory on the piano and can sing along to it too and I’m not great but not terrible either and I’d love to let other people hear but when I perform for others, I get nervous, sweat and make so many mistakes. Why?
You’re not confident enough of your own ability, so you’re making the mistakes you’re worrying about. Start out by playing for one person you can trust, then ask that person to bring another person with him/her the next time. You might make a mistake or two, but if these are good people, you’ll get over it. Then you can start playing for bigger audiences.
